In response to the 2015 outbreak of Legionnaires' Disease , New York City and New York State created new requirements for owners of buildings with cooling towers. They must register, maintain and test their cooling towers, fluid coolers and evaporative condensers - Chapter 8 of the rules of the City of New York in compliance with Local Law 77 of 2015.
